Joshua’s passion for exploring different flavors and learning about regional ingredients began at an early age. Growing up in a multicultural family gave him the opportunity to try foods from a variety of countries. He was exposed to dishes like Mexican carnitas, crispy Italian pizzas, and aromatic Indian curries, which all captivated his young taste buds. As he got older, Joshua decided to take his love of food to the next level, traveling overseas to experience firsthand what the rest of the world had to offer.

International Cuisine Adventures

Through his travels, Joshua gained priceless knowledge of the traditional cooking methods and recipes of each country. From sampling the street fare of Japan with tempura, teriyaki chicken, and okonomiyaki to indulging in delicious dumplings across the Chinese provinces, Joshua found joy in experiencing the diversity of global cuisines. Even outside of these famously known culinary meccas, Joshua experienced the unique flavors of Southeast Asian delicacies like Balinese sweet pork satay, Cambodian fish amok, as well as Malaysian rendang.

Eventually, Joshua discovered that going out of France and Italy also had much more to offer than just its popular cheeses and pastas. Tapping into the unexplored tastes of Southwest Europe, Joshua went on to appreciate the bold spices of Spanish paella, succulent seafood of Portuguese cataplana, and creamy textures of French velouté.

Sharing His Foodie Experiences

Upon his return back home, Joshua started sharing his foodie experiences by opening his very own restaurant. Here, he designed a menu offering signature dishes inspired by all the amazing places he’s been tasted. With this, Joshua strives to give diners a truly immersive culinary experience – evoking memories of days spent on the beaches of Thailand and the vibrant markets of India.

Joshua also took his passion online, sharing his foodie photographs, recipes, and stories via his popular blog. Through this, he creates connections between cultures while educating people on the history and health benefits of international dishes. This serves as a great platform for others to explore and expand their palette.
